There are many types of photo editing that I can do. Digital photos can be emailed to me for editing. Email me for details. Below are some before and after examples.
* Repair torn photos (send by mail or deliver to me)
* Convert to black & white or sepia
* Remove unwanted subjects from photo
* Add special effects to photo
* Add a subject or person to a new photo
* Add frames or boarders
* Use selective colours in a Black & White Photo (ie.)Colour one part of the photo and leave the rest of the photo B&W Email me for details.
I took this photo in 2003 with a point and shoot camera. The original jpeg was dark and dull and the colour was off. To repair I fixed the exposure by opening the jpeg in Camera RAW and making several adjustments, then I made a white balance adjustment to fix the colour and then sharpened.
For this photo I took three exposures (-2, 0, 2 ev) and created a high dynamic range photo by combining them using Photomatix Pro. I also removed the fence in the foreground.
To spruce up the dull original photo I used a filter called Topaz Adjust to bring out more colour and contrast. I also used a graduated filter to improve the clouds and make them more dramatic.
Shooting in RAW mode is a huge advantage when it comes to editing a photo as this. This 14 bit RAW file retained all the information until it was edited using Photomatix Pro and Photoshop. It was easy to bring out more detail in the dark areas of the photo and make the sky more dramatic.
This is an example of selective colouring. A photo is converted to black and white then by using layers in Photoshop the background is erased away leaving the coloured area. This method of editing is quite effective for portraits.
I didn't like the original photo so I done several edits in Photoshop to get this effect.
The original photo was very plain so I edited it by using exposure blending on three exposures then using the Orton Technique, added some saturation then sharpened a little.
For this photo I took three exposures (-2, 0, 2 ev) and created a high dynamic range photo by combining them using Photomatix Pro. I used the cloning and healing brush numerous times in Photoshop to clean up the cracks and water on the street and the paving stones.
For this photo I created a low profile shot of this Ibanez guitar. I used the smallest aperture on the camera for the best depth of field then added colour and other effects in Photoshop.
This process is very time consuming but you can end up with some great results. This is called "combining images". The subject in one photo is extracted and inserted into another photo by using layers, a layer mask and mask edit mode. From there many edits are done to end up with a photo like this one. Kids sure like to have a photo of themselves like this one.
